Ordering Guide
How to Place Your Order
1. Select Your Engine
Browse our available Mercury Outboard models, ranging from 2.5 hp to 20 hp, plus the Avator 1 hp Electric. Each product page includes detailed specifications, compatibility information, and customer reviews.
- Use the Outboard Wizard: Not sure which engine is right for your boat? Use our Outboard Wizard tool on the Outboards page at mercuryoutboards.ca/outboards/ to find the perfect match. Answer a few questions about your vessel, intended use, and preferences, and the Wizard will recommend suitable engine options.
- If you need additional assistance after using the Wizard, contact our team before placing your order.
2. Add to Cart
Once you've made your selection, add the engine to your shopping cart. Review your selection carefully, including model number, horsepower, and shaft length. Your cart will display the unit price, applicable taxes, and estimated shipping costs before you proceed.
3. Create Account or Checkout as Guest
You may create an account for faster future purchases and order tracking, or checkout as a guest. Account holders receive access to order history, saved payment methods, and assistance with warranty registration.
4. Review Your Order
Before submitting payment, you'll see a complete order summary showing:
- Product details and quantity
- Subtotal in Canadian Dollars (CAD)
- Applicable taxes
- Shipping costs and method
- Total amount to be charged
Review this summary carefully. Once submitted, orders cannot be modified.
5. Submit Payment
Enter your payment information on our secure, PCI-DSS compliant checkout page. Your payment method will be charged immediately upon order submission. You'll see a confirmation screen with your order number—save this for your records.
6. Order Confirmation
You'll receive an email confirmation within minutes containing:
- Order number and date
- Itemized purchase details
- Payment confirmation
- Estimated shipping timeline
- Links to track your order and contact support
Check your spam folder if you don't receive confirmation within 30 minutes. Contact us immediately if no confirmation arrives.
Accepted Payment Methods
We accept the following credit cards:
- Visa
- MasterCard
- American Express
Payment Processing:
- Credit cards are charged at the time of order submission
- Pre-authorization holds may appear on your statement before the final charge
- All transactions are processed in Canadian Dollars (CAD)
- International cards may incur foreign transaction fees from your bank
Pricing and Taxes
Currency
All prices are displayed and charged in Canadian Dollars (CAD). Prices shown are the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) unless otherwise indicated.
Taxes
Applicable taxes are calculated at checkout based on your shipping address:
- Federal GST (5%) applies to all orders
- Tax-exempt purchasers must provide valid documentation before ordering
Price Accuracy
We make every effort to ensure pricing accuracy. In the event of a pricing error:
- We will notify you before processing your order
- You may choose to proceed at the correct price or cancel without penalty
- We reserve the right to cancel orders placed at incorrect prices
- If your payment has been processed, we will issue a full refund within 5-7 business days
Prices are subject to change without notice. The price in effect at the time of order submission applies to your purchase.
Order Cancellation and Modification
Before Shipment
Orders may be cancelled or modified only if they have not yet been submitted to our freight partner. This typically occurs within 2-4 hours of order placement.
To request cancellation or modification:
- Contact us immediately at support@mercuryoutboards.ca
- Provide your order number and the requested change
- We'll confirm whether modification is possible
We cannot guarantee cancellation requests will be processed in time. If your order has already shipped, see our Return Policy.
After Shipment
Once an order is dispatched, it cannot be cancelled or modified. You may:
- Refuse delivery (you're responsible for return shipping costs)
- Accept delivery and initiate a return per our Return Policy
Cancellation by Mercury Outboards
We reserve the right to cancel orders for the following reasons:
- Product unavailability
- Pricing or description errors
- Suspected fraudulent activity
- Shipping address verification failure
- Payment authorization failure
If we cancel your order, you'll receive a full refund within 5-7 business days and an email notification explaining the reason.
Product Availability
In-Stock Items
Items marked "In Stock" typically ship within 1-3 business days. Stock levels are updated regularly but may not reflect real-time availability.
Backorders
If an item is unavailable after you place your order:
- We'll notify you within 2 business days with an estimated availability date
- You may choose to wait for the item or cancel for a full refund
- Your payment will not be processed until the item ships (for backordered items identified before payment)
- If already charged, you may request a refund while waiting
Quantity Limits
We reserve the right to limit quantities on any order. Orders exceeding posted limits may be partially cancelled or require additional verification.
Order Verification
To protect against fraud, we may verify orders before processing. Verification may include:
- Confirming billing and shipping address match
- Contacting you by phone or email
- Requesting additional identification
- Validating payment method with your financial institution
Orders flagged for verification are held for up to 48 hours. We'll contact you if additional information is needed. Unverified orders may be cancelled.
