How to Place Your Order
1. Select Your Engine
Browse available Mercury Outboard models, ranging from 2.5 hp to 20 hp, plus the Avator 1 hp Electric. Each product page includes detailed specifications, compatibility information, and customer reviews.
- Use the Outboard Wizard: Not sure which engine fits your boat? The Outboard Wizard tool at MercuryOutboards.ca/outboards/ finds the right match. Answer a few questions about your vessel, intended use, and preferences. The Wizard recommends suitable engine options based on your answers.
- Need additional assistance after using the Wizard? Contact support@mercuryoutboards.ca before placing your order.
2. Add to Cart
Once you've made your selection, add the engine to your shopping cart. Review your selection carefully, including model number, horsepower, and shaft length. Your cart displays the unit price, applicable taxes, and estimated shipping costs before you proceed.
3. Create Account or Checkout as Guest
Create an account for faster future purchases and order tracking, or checkout as a guest. Account holders receive access to order history and saved payment methods.
4. Review Your Order
Before submitting payment, a complete order summary displays:
- Product details and quantity
- Subtotal in Canadian Dollars (CAD)
- Applicable taxes
- Shipping costs and method
- Total amount charged
Review this summary carefully. MercuryOutboards.ca cannot modify orders once submitted.
5. Submit Payment
Enter your payment information on the secure, PCI-DSS compliant checkout page. Your payment method charges immediately upon order submission. A confirmation screen displays your order number. Save this for your records.
6. Order Confirmation
An email confirmation arrives within minutes containing:
- Order number and date
- Itemized purchase details
- Payment confirmation
- Estimated shipping timeline
- Links to track your order and contact support
Check your spam folder if the confirmation doesn't arrive within 30 minutes. Contact support@mercuryoutboards.ca immediately if no confirmation arrives.
Accepted Payment Methods
Accepted credit cards:

Payment Processing:
- Credit cards charge at the time of order submission
- Expect pre-authorization holds on your statement before the final charge
- All transactions process in Canadian Dollars (CAD)
- Check with your bank about foreign transaction fees for international cards
Pricing and Taxes
Currency
All prices display and charge in Canadian Dollars (CAD). Prices shown are the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) unless otherwise indicated.
Taxes
Checkout calculates applicable taxes based on your shipping address:
- Federal GST (5%) applies to all orders
- Provincial sales tax varies by province
- Tax-exempt purchasers must provide valid documentation before ordering
Price Accuracy
MercuryOutboards.ca strives for pricing accuracy. In the event of a pricing error:
- You receive a notification before order processing
- Choose to proceed at the correct price or cancel without penalty
- MercuryOutboards.ca reserves the right to cancel orders placed at incorrect prices
- After payment processes, expect a full refund within 5-7 business days
Prices change without notice. The price in effect at the time of order submission applies to your purchase.
Order Cancellation and Modification
Before Shipment
MercuryOutboards.ca cancels or modifies orders only before submitting them to the freight partner. This window typically closes within 2-4 hours of order placement.
To request cancellation or modification:
- Contact support@mercuryoutboards.ca immediately
- Provide your order number and the requested change
- Receive confirmation whether the modification is possible
Cancellation requests don't always process in time. If your order has already shipped, see the Return Policy.
After Shipment
Once an order ships, MercuryOutboards.ca cannot cancel or modify it. Options include:
- Refuse delivery (you're responsible for return shipping costs)
- Accept delivery and initiate a return per the Return Policy

MercuryOutboards.ca reserves the right to cancel orders for the following reasons:
- Product unavailability
- Pricing or description errors
- Suspected fraudulent activity
- Shipping address verification failure
- Payment authorization failure
Cancelled orders receive full refunds within 5-7 business days and an email notification explaining the reason.
Product Availability
In-Stock Items
Items marked "In Stock" typically ship within 1-2 business days. Stock levels update regularly but don't reflect real-time availability.
Backorders
If an item becomes unavailable after order placement:
- Expect notification within 2 business days with an estimated availability date
- Choose to wait for the item or cancel for a full refund
- Payment doesn't process until the item ships (for backordered items identified before payment)
- If already charged, request a refund while waiting
Quantity Limits
MercuryOutboards.ca reserves the right to limit quantities on any order. Orders exceeding posted limits face partial cancellation or require additional verification.
Order Verification
To protect against fraud, MercuryOutboards.ca verifies some orders before processing. Verification includes:
- Confirming billing and shipping address match
- Contacting you by phone or email
- Requesting additional identification
- Validating payment method with your financial institution
MercuryOutboards.ca holds orders flagged for verification for up to 48 hours. Expect contact if MercuryOutboards.ca needs additional information. Unverified orders face cancellation.
