Shipping & Delivery

Last Updated: December 2025

Overview

Your Mercury outboard ships anywhere in Canada via specialized LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight carriers. You'll receive tracking information and curbside delivery to your home.

This page explains the freight delivery process and your inspection responsibilities. Read it before placing your order. Understanding inspection requirements protects your purchase and ensures proper documentation of any shipping damage.

Service Area

All Canadian provinces and territories.

Deliveries to remote or limited-service areas (including parts of Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and remote communities in other provinces) require additional fees and extended transit times. Checkout displays shipping availability and costs to your specific location.

Order Processing & Tracking

Orders ship within 1-2 business days (Monday-Friday, excluding statutory holidays). Your shipping confirmation email includes tracking information.

Typical delivery times:

  • Ontario, Quebec: 3-5 business days
  • Western Canada (BC, AB, SK, MB): 5-8 business days
  • Atlantic Canada: 5-8 business days
  • Northern/Remote areas: 10-15 business days

LTL freight tracking shows terminal scans rather than real-time location updates. These timeframes are estimates based on carrier schedules and are not guaranteed.

Shipping Costs

Checkout calculates shipping costs based on your destination postal code and the product's weight and dimensions. You'll see the total shipping cost before submitting payment. No additional shipping charges apply after order confirmation.

Delivery & Inspection

Carriers deliver curbside to residential addresses. They cannot move shipments inside buildings or garages.

Inspect Before Signing

Before the driver leaves and before signing the delivery receipt, thoroughly inspect the shipment.

Look for:

  • Punctures, tears, or holes in packaging
  • Crushed, dented, or collapsed corners
  • Water damage or staining
  • Visible damage to the pallet or crate

If You See ANY Damage

  1. Write all damage on the delivery receipt before signing. Be specific (e.g., "4-inch tear on left side of carton," "corner of crate crushed").
  2. Take photos of all damage.
  3. Keep all packaging materials.
  4. Contact support@mercuryoutboards.ca within 24 hours.

If No Visible Damage

Write "Subject to Inspection" on the delivery receipt before signing. This preserves your right to file a claim if you discover concealed damage after unpacking.

Why Inspection Matters

Signing the delivery receipt without noting visible damage legally confirms you received the shipment in good condition. This action:

  • Transfers full responsibility to you
  • Prevents MercuryOutboards.ca from filing a freight claim on your behalf
  • Voids your ability to receive compensation for shipping damage

Shipments signed as received in good condition, when damage was visible at delivery, do not qualify for damage claims.

Concealed Damage

Concealed damage is damage you discover after unpacking that wasn't visible on the exterior packaging.

If you discover concealed damage:

  1. Stop. Don't install, fuel, or start the motor.
  2. Document the damage with photos.
  3. Contact support@mercuryoutboards.ca within 48 hours.
  4. Keep all original packaging. The carrier requires it for inspection.

Carriers deny concealed damage claims filed more than 5 business days after delivery.
