Our Mercury Outboards are shipped via specialized LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight carriers due to their size and weight. This policy explains what to expect during order processing and delivery, including your responsibilities upon receiving your shipment.
Please read this policy carefully before placing your order. Understanding the freight delivery process—especially the inspection requirements—protects your purchase and ensures any shipping damage is properly documented.
We ship to all Canadian provinces and territories.
Deliveries to remote or limited-service areas (including parts of Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and remote communities in other provinces) may require additional fees and extended transit times. Shipping availability and costs to your specific location are calculated at checkout.
Orders are processed within 1-2 business days (Monday-Friday, excluding statutory holidays). You'll receive a Shipping Confirmation Email when your order ships, including tracking information and carrier contact details.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your destination postal code and the product's weight/dimensions. The total shipping cost is displayed at checkout before you submit payment. No additional shipping charges will be added after order confirmation.
Delivery estimates are provided at checkout and in your Shipping Confirmation Email. These are good-faith estimates based on carrier schedules and are not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by the freight carrier, weather, or other circumstances beyond our control.
Once your order ships, the freight carrier will contact you directly to schedule a delivery appointment. Provide a phone number where you can be reached during business hours—carriers require a scheduled appointment and will not deliver without prior arrangement.
| Delivery Type | Requirements |
|---|---|
| Commercial Address: | Loading dock or forklift access preferred |
| Residential Address: | Curbside delivery with lift-gate service recommended |
Important: Lift-gate service is strongly recommended for residential deliveries. Without it, you're responsible for unloading the motor from the truck (typically 3-4 feet off the ground). Carriers cannot move shipments inside buildings or garages.
This is the most critical step in the delivery process.
Before the driver leaves and before signing the Bill of Lading (delivery receipt), you must thoroughly inspect the shipment.
Inspect for:
If you see ANY damage:
If no visible damage: Write "Subject to Inspection" on the delivery receipt before signing. This preserves your right to file a claim if concealed damage is discovered after uncrating.
Signing the delivery receipt without noting visible damage legally confirms you received the shipment in good condition.
This:
We cannot process damage claims for shipments signed as received in good condition when damage was visible at delivery.
Concealed damage is damage discovered after unpacking that wasn't visible on the exterior packaging.
If you discover concealed damage:
Concealed damage claims filed more than 5 business days after delivery may be denied by the carrier.
Tracking information is included in your Shipping Confirmation Email. LTL freight tracking shows terminal scans rather than real-time location updates. Contact the carrier directly for delivery scheduling and status updates.
