Small boat, small transom, and a motor that has to come off after every trip. The Mercury 6MH FourStroke is built for that job. It gives you 6hp of manual-start, tiller-steered power on a 15" short shaft. One person can carry it from the truck to the dock.

Lift it off the transom yourself. Clamp it on with the quick-clamp bracket, no bolts and no rigging. Fill the integral tank and go, or connect a remote tank when the run is longer than the tank.

Measure your transom at the centreline before you order. Around 15" and this short-shaft 6MH is your match. Closer to 20" and you want the long-shaft 6MLH instead. The 6hp outboard suits aluminum tillers, jon boats, utility hulls, small inflatables, and sailboat auxiliary duty.
