Every Mercury outboard ships fully tracked by freight, anywhere in Canada. This page walks you through delivery, inspection, and how to protect your purchase, so read it before you order.
All Canadian provinces and territories. Some remote areas take longer. That includes parts of the Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and remote communities elsewhere, where transit runs long.
P.O. boxes: freight carriers can't deliver to a P.O. box, so a physical street address is required at checkout.
Orders ship within 1 to 2 business days (Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays). Your shipping confirmation email includes tracking.
| Region | Estimated transit |
|---|---|
| Western Canada (BC, AB) | 1 to 4 business days |
| Western Canada (SK, MB) | 3 to 5 business days |
| Ontario, Quebec | 5 to 8 business days |
| Atlantic Canada (NB, NS, PEI, NL) | 5 to 8 business days |
| Northern, remote, or rural areas | 10 to 14+ business days |
Freight tracking shows terminal scans rather than real-time location. These windows are estimates, not guarantees.
Some carriers call or email to set up a delivery window. Keep the phone number and email on your order current and reachable.
Shipping is calculated at checkout from the engine's weight, its dimensions, and your delivery address. You always see your exact cost before you pay. We ship by freight carrier. Smaller engines may go by parcel carriers such as Purolator, FedEx, Canpar, or GLS, whichever serves you best.
Liftgate service is included at no extra charge on every shipment. You don't need a loading dock, a forklift, or extra hands to receive your outboard.
A liftgate is a hydraulic platform on the back of the freight truck. It bridges the gap between the truck bed and the ground, lowering your outboard to street level so you can receive it safely without special equipment.
This is the most important section on this page. How you handle the delivery receipt decides whether shipping damage can be fixed. Please read it before your motor arrives.
All deliveries are curbside. Carriers can't move shipments inside buildings, garages, or storage areas.
Inspect before signing. Before the driver leaves and before you sign the receipt, look for:
If you see any damage:
Do not refuse the shipment, even if it's damaged. Refusing triggers return freight both ways plus a restocking fee, and it doesn't speed up resolution. Accept the motor, document all damage on the receipt, and contact us within 2 business days. We'll handle the freight claim for you.
If there's no visible damage, write "Subject to Inspection" on the receipt before you sign. That preserves your right to file a claim if you find concealed damage after unpacking.
Why inspection matters. Signing the receipt without noting visible damage confirms you received the shipment in good condition. That:
Sign for it in good condition when the damage was visible, and it won't qualify for a claim.
Who's responsible at each stage:
| Stage | Responsible party |
|---|---|
| Order processing and warehouse handling | Us (Mercury Outboards) |
| In transit | Freight carrier |
| After you sign the receipt | You |
Concealed damage is damage you find after unpacking that wasn't visible on the outside. Act fast. Carriers deny concealed-damage claims filed more than 5 business days after delivery. Contact us within 2 business days so we have time to document and file before that deadline.
We register your Mercury warranty for you. After your order ships, we'll email you a digital warranty card. Fill it out, email it back to support@mercuryoutboards.ca, and we'll handle the registration and send confirmation once it's done.
Mercury outboards come with a 3-year limited warranty, valid at any Authorized Mercury Service Centre across Canada. If you ever have a warranty issue, contact an Authorized Mercury Service Centre with your serial number and proof of purchase.
Before it ships: contact us as soon as you can. Orders that haven't been processed yet can be changed or canceled at no charge, with a full refund to your original payment method within 1 to 3 business days.
After it ships: canceling means returning the motor, which carries return freight both ways plus a restocking fee. Those costs can be substantial, so call us before you refuse or return anything, and we'll walk you through the options.
To change or cancel, call us at 1-807-206-0032 (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM PST). The sooner we hear from you, the more options we have.
Once you sign the delivery receipt, you take responsibility for the shipment, so noting damage before you sign is essential to protecting your purchase.
