Please read these terms before placing an order. By using this website you agree to the rules below and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Who you’re buying from

Mercury Outboards is a fully online store and a Mercury-Authorized Dealer. Mercury Marine, the manufacturer, is a separate company.

Because we’re fully online, we ship the complete portable lineup, 2.5hp to 20hp, direct to you anywhere in Canada.

Product information and pricing

We work hard to keep our descriptions, prices and stock accurate. Mistakes can still happen and things change.

• Photographs are illustrative. Always check the technical specifications before you buy.
• Prices are in Canadian dollars and change without notice. The price in effect when you submit your order is the price that applies.
• If we spot a pricing error on your order we contact you before processing. You choose: proceed at the correct price, or cancel for a full refund.
• Information here does not replace expert advice. For deep technical questions, your owner’s manual or an authorized Mercury service centre is your best source.

Matching the engine to your boat

When you buy an outboard, it’s up to you to match it to your boat.

Check your vessel’s Transport Canada or Coast Guard limits for horsepower and weight before you order.

We take no responsibility if an engine is too large for a hull, the wrong rigging is used, or a third-party installation goes wrong. That covers any damage, poor performance or injury that follows.

We’d much rather help you get it right. Run your setup through the Outboard Finder, or call 1-807-206-0032 before you order and we’ll confirm horsepower, shaft length and rigging with you.

Ordering and payment

We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express, processed in Canadian funds. Your card is charged when you order, which is what allows us to reserve your motor and dispatch it the same day.

Taxes are calculated at checkout based on your shipping address: 5% federal GST on all Canadian orders, plus your provincial sales tax.

Cancellations and returns

Before it ships: cancel at no charge, with a full refund within 1 to 3 business days.

After it ships: returns are by approval only once the engine has been delivered, unboxed, registered or used. If we approve one, we arrange the freight label and you cover the shipping cost.

Mechanical trouble: that is a warranty matter. Any authorized Mercury dealer in Canada will service it, at no cost to you for covered work.

Damaged or defective: you’re covered. Follow the delivery-day steps, never refuse the shipment, and let us handle it.

Warranty

While we handle the sale of your outboard, your warranty comes directly from Mercury Marine.

Registration. After your engine ships we email you a digital warranty card. Send it back and we register the motor with Mercury for you.

Service. For warranty service, contact your nearest authorized Mercury service centre.

Shipping

Every engine ships fully tracked by freight with liftgate delivery included at no extra charge. Freight carriers cannot deliver to a P.O. box, so a physical street address is required.

Accessibility

We want everyone to use this site with ease. This site is being built to meet WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards, including tools such as the Outboard Finder.

If you’ve trouble with anything, call or email our support team. Our team will help you navigate the site or place an order by phone.

Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms takes away from your rights under Canadian or provincial consumer protection laws, including Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act.

If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still stands.

Together with our Privacy Policy and Returns Policy, these terms form the full agreement about your use of the site and your purchase.
