Returns Policy

We are dedicated to your satisfaction. However, due to the nature of our products, there are important restrictions on returns.

Return Eligibility

  • Outboard Motors: Due to their serialized nature, registration requirements, and shipping complexity, outboard motors are non-returnable and are considered a final sale.

What to Do If You Have an Issue

While sales are final, we at Mercury Outboards are here to support you. If you believe your outboard motor has a manufacturing defect, please follow these steps:

  • Do Not Install or Use: If you suspect a problem, do not install, fuel, or attempt to start the engine.
  • Contact Us Immediately: Call our Customer Support team within 48 hours of delivery to report the issue.
  • Manufacturer’s Warranty: Your new Mercury Outboard is covered by a comprehensive manufacturer’s warranty from Mercury Marine. All claims related to this warranty must be truthful, accurate, and verifiable. To ensure the validity of the manufacturer’s warranty, a certified Mercury Marine dealer must complete the installation. You may be required to provide proof of certified installation when making a warranty claim.

Consumer Rights Compliance

This policy is designed to be fully compliant with consumer protection laws in Canada. We are committed to upholding all applicable privacy laws regarding the collection and use of customer data, including PIPEDA. The non-returnable status of outboard motors does not affect your statutory rights under the manufacturer’s warranty for defective products. Our goal is to ensure any issues are resolved efficiently through the proper warranty channels.
